ENGAGEMENT AND WEDDING

Before the wedding comes engagement ceremony. It's usually reserved for family members and very close friends. Also a tame affair, before the ceremony an Achar or monk was called in to choose a suitable wedding date based on the birth dated of both groom and bride, because the wedding date is very important. The marriage can turn out to be disaster if the wrong date is chosen. On engaged day, the groom's family will walk in pairs.

Lead by the groom to the bride's house, bringing with them offerings of food, drinks, fruits and Khmer cakes. There she sits on sits on the floor with her parents and several monks. The head monk will lead the congregation in prayer and subsequently bless the couple. The engagement ceremony usually ends with lunch to not exceed a year before the big day. After engagement traditionally, the wedding must be held after permission of the law from authority. Wedding is a ceremony to match up the man and woman to be a couple. In Cambodia new couple always got the advices from Wiseman, parents and village elders of both sides. 

All those advices relate to their standard of living and the way of life to raise the height of connection to get happiness in their married life. In the past it takes for three days, but nowadays they contract it only one day. From the dawn they have the parade head for the bride's house accompany by groomsmen and a lot of young people and his parents with their presents. 

After that they prepare many other ceremonies, in the evening thy ceremony. At their new couple with bridesmaid and give flowers to the guests came to join as dignity. Parents both sides are standing with a couple to welcome them too.
